Upgrade the firmware for your DATAQ device

If you are using an ISA-bus based or parallel port-based device:

1) Download the DSP codes

2) Unzip the file

3) Select the right one for your device/application

4) Save a copy of the old DSP file in your WinDaq directory. e.g. Rename DI-400.BNM to DI-400.BN_

5) Copy the new DSP file to the WinDaq directory and replace the one for the device. e.g. Replace DI-400.BNM with DI-400SH.BNM

If you are using an USB-based option and you need to upgrade the firmware on the device, connect the device to the PC via parallel port (you need a PC with PS/2 or bidirectional printer port to do it):

1) Download the FlashRom Upgrade Program

2) Unzip the files under a temporary directory. e.g. C:\TEST

If you are using a Win3.1/95/98 PC to upgrade the firmware, you may

3) Goto MS-DOS prompt

4) Goto the directory C:\TEST and run: FLASH2 <lpt>.

If you are using a WinNT/ME/2000 PC to upgrade the firmware, you may

3) Install WinDaq/parallel port software and confirm the DI-720 works fine under parallel port mode

4) Goto MS-DOS prompt

5) Goto the directory C:\TEST and run: FLASH2NT <lpt>.

When you are done updating the firmware, you may need to upgrade to the latest WinDaq/USB

If you want to change the USB Device ID (All USB devices has the default of Device 0 when you receive it) of your DI-720/730/USB, connect the device to the PC via parallel port (you need a Win3.1/95/98 PC with PS/2 or bidirectional printer port to do it):

1) Download the SetUSBID Program to a temporary directory. e.g. C:\TEST

2) Goto MS-DOS prompt

3) Goto the directory and run: SETUSBID <lpt>.

If you are using an Ethernet-based (EN) option shipped before November, 2001* , connect the device to the PC via parallel port (you need a Win3.1/95/98 PC with PS/2 or bidirectional printer port to do it):

1) Download the FlashRom Upgrade Program

2) Unzip the files under a temporary directory. e.g. C:\TEST

3) Goto MS-DOS prompt

4) Goto the directory and run: FLASHE <lpt>

* Check the label at the bottom of the device to confirm it is not ENA version, which does not require any firmware upgrade.
