DATAQ ANNOUNCES NEW, UPGRADED WinDaq DATA ACQUISITION SOFTWARE
AKRON, OH, November 18, 1997 — DATAQ Instruments Inc., announces today the availability of its new, upgraded PC-based WinDaq/Pro waveform recording software for Windows featuring a Floating Toolbox that consists of a number of functional icons for tailoring a WinDaq data acquisition setup. The software is used for recording data acquired with DATAQ's DI-200, DI-300, DI-400 and DI-500 Series hardware products. DATAQ Instruments supplies the PC-based instrumentation needs of medical, research, and industrial test and measurement customers.
"We are upgrading our standard software offerings to keep WinDaq the most powerful waveform recording software in the industry," says Roger Lockhart, Vice President, Marketing. "Users will find that in addition to WinDaq's high-performance recording capabilities, set-up is fast and virtually effortless, compared to competitive software packages available on the market today," says Lockhart.
WinDaq/Pro Software Features and Capabilities
WinDaq/Pro is DATAQ's new standard waveform recording software, and replaces the previous WinDaq/200 software. DATAQ's WinDaq/Pro offers real-time display and disk streaming for Windows. Its real-time display can operate in a smooth scroll or triggered sweep mode of operation, and each channel can be scaled into any unit of measure. Other features and capabilities include:
- Disk Streaming up to 500 ksamples per second.
- Multitasking Operation. Provides fully automatic foreground/background tasks while streaming data to disk.
- Record Up to 240 channels and display up to 32 at the same time.
- Event Markers with Comments. Accepts up to 8000 events while recording to disk.
- Automatic Time and Date Stamping. Correlates waveform data with date and time of acquisition with one second resolution.
- Gap-free Disk Streaming. Creates data files limited in length only by the size of the target disk drive.
- Programmability (hardware-dependent). Software selection of: amplifier gain, unipolar or bipolar, single-ended, differential, or thermocouple per channel.
- Pre- and Post Triggering Support.
- WinDaq Waveform Browser Playback and Analysis Software Support.
Floating Toolbox Software Features and Capabilities
The Floating Toolbox software provides the user with a number of functional icons that are used to customize a data acquisition setup. The icons, when selected, provide an easy way to set variable parameters, such as sample rate, expand or contract in X or Y direction, channel settings, display modes, etc. Free WinDaq Waveform Browser Playback Software. Once waveforms have been acquired, users can analyze the data with free software from DATAQ's Web site at www.dataq.com. DATAQ's WinDaq Waveform Browser playback and analysis software offers an easy way to review and analyze waveforms with smooth scrolling in either time direction as well as any degree of waveform compression. "WinDaq is the fastest display software in the industry, and there is absolutely no programming required because it has enough features and tools to meet the user's most stringent demands," says Lockhart. Data files can be imported and exported from a variety of data acquisition, spreadsheet, and analysis formats providing a high degree of flexibility.
The software's disk streaming design allows up to 254 waveform channels of any length to be graphically displayed and browsed. Seven standard cursor-based time and amplitude measurements, frequency domain (FFT and DFT) and ten statistical analysis functions help simplify waveform analysis and interpretation. Digital filtering allows graphical editing of the power spectrum for high-pass, low-pass, band-pass and notch filters.
Availability and Pricing
WinDaq/Pro recording software is immediately available for $1395.
