Gain

To select channel-by-channel gain, you must be in the SET-UP operating mode. Gain cannot be adjusted once the RECORD mode has been entered. Additionally, the desired channel must be selected.

Click the Channel Setup button in the Toolbox.

In the Edit menu click on Channel Settings….

Choose Edit Channel Settings... (ALT, E, G).

This displays one of the following “Channel X Settings” dialog boxes (where X represents the enabled channel).

The gain factors displayed at the top of this dialog box are hardware dependent. Gain factors of 1, 2, 4, and 8 are displayed if your hardware is a PGH model or 1, 10, 100, and 1000 are displayed if your hardware is a PGL model. Some DI-158 models have 10 gain settings (as shown above). The equivalent plus and minus full scale voltage range is displayed next to each gain setting. These voltages vary by hardware device (i.e., a DI-220 has a maximum measurement range of ±5 volts while a DI-155 has a maximum measurement range of ±50 volts).

Choose the desired gain setting for that channel.

Double-click on the desired gain factor (or click on the desired gain factor and then the OK button).

Press the ↑ or ↓ arrow key until the desired gain factor is highlighted and press ENTER.

This displays the following “Channel X Settings” dialog box (where X represents the selected channel).
