DATAQ OFFERS WinDaq SOFTWARE SUPPORTING DIFFERENT SAMPLE RATES PER CHANNEL
AKRON, OH, December 2, 1997 — DATAQ Instruments Inc., announces today the availability of two new versions of its PC-based WinDaq waveform recording software for Windows. Used for recording data acquired with DATAQ's DI-200, DI-300, DI-400 and DI-500 Series hardware products, the new data acquisition software packages are WinDaq/Pro+, an enhanced version of WinDaq/Pro, providing users with the capability to select a different sample rate per channel; and WinDaq/Lite, similar to WinDaq/Pro, but providing users with 16-channel capability, and at no charge. WinDaq/Pro is DATAQ's new and enhanced standard data acquisition software package for waveform recording.
These new offerings broaden DATAQ's line, providing users with the ability to select the software geared to their specific acquisition requirements and budget. DATAQ Instruments supplies the PC-based instrumentation needs of medical, research, and industrial test and measurement customers.
Two New Software D/A Offerings
WinDaq/Pro+ contains all of WinDaq/Pro's features and capabilities, but also provides the user the ability to tailor sample rate on a per channel basis by selecting sample rate divisor values of 1 to 255 through the Channel Settings menu of WinDaq/Pro+. "This is one of the most sought-after features in data acquisition, and until now, was reserved for only the most costly high-end products in the $10,000 range, but will now be available for only $1995," says Roger Lockhart, Vice President, Marketing.
Free WinDaq/Lite Software Download
WinDaq/Lite is similar to WinDaq/Pro, but provides only 16-channel capability at a maximum sampling rate of 240 samples per second, and will be available free of charge for users building a low-cost data acquisition system, or wanting to become familiar with WinDaq data acquisition software. "Users will find that WinDaq software set-up is fast and virtually effortless, compared to competitive software packages available on the market today," says Lockhart. The WinDaq/Lite software can be downloaded from the company's Web site at www.DATAQ.com, making it available to a broad spectrum of Windows users.
Software Features and Capabilities
DATAQ's WinDaq data acquisition software offers real-time display and disk streaming for Windows. Its real-time display can operate in a smooth scroll or triggered sweep mode of operation, and each channel can be scaled into any unit of measure. WinDaq data acquisition software supports all DI-200, DI-300, DI-400 and DI-500 Series hardware products. Other features and capabilities include:
- Disk Streaming up to 500 ksamples per second (WinDaq/Lite operates at the hardware sample rate, but disk streaming is limited to 240 samples per second).
- Multitasking Operation. Provides fully automatic foreground/background tasks while streaming data to disk.
- Record Up to 240 channels and display up to 32 at the same time (WinDaq/Lite is limited to 16-channels).
- Event Markers with Comments. Accepts up to 8000 events while recording to disk.
- Automatic Time and Date Stamping. Correlates waveform data with date and time of acquisition with one second resolution.
- Gap-free Disk Streaming. Creates data files limited in length only by the size of the target disk.
- Programmability (hardware-dependent). Software selection of: amplifier gain, unipolar or bipolar, single-ended, differential, or thermocouple per channel.
- Pre- and Post Triggering Support.
- WinDaq Waveform Browser Playback and Analysis Software Support.
Free WinDaq Waveform Browser Playback Software
WinDaq/Pro, WinDaq/Pro+ and WinDaq/Lite are all waveform recording software packages that form a complete system when combined with DATAQ's WinDaq Waveform Browser playback and analysis software. The WinDaq Waveform Browser offers an easy way to review and analyze waveforms with smooth scrolling in either time direction as well as any degree of waveform compression, and is available free-of-charge at DATAQ's Web site. "WinDaq is the fastest display software in the industry, and there is absolutely no programming required because it has enough features and tools to meet the user's most stringent demands," says Lockhart. Data files can be imported and exported from a variety of data acquisition, spreadsheet, and analysis formats providing a high degree of flexibility.
The software's disk streaming design allows up to 254 waveform channels of any length to be graphically displayed and browsed. Seven standard cursor-based time and amplitude measurements, frequency domain (FFT and DFT) and ten statistical analysis functions help simplify waveform analysis and interpretation. Digital filtering allows graphical editing of the power spectrum for high-pass, low-pass, band-pass and notch filters.
