Steve,

You can download the DI-148U installation (including the USB driver) at:

No good I'm afraid, that's a self extracting exe and there is no way to just install the drivers. When installing it asks the input method, usb or ethernet, despite checking the radio button for usb further on in the installation a box pops up which says 'No input method selected' so it doesn't install the drivers'.

I think I've worked around it by using the drivers from an old install cd that someone sent me.

Steve,

We do not have a separate driver installation for the DI-148U.

Glad to hear you're up and running.

I have a similar problem. We had the 148-U running on NT and are now trying to put it on an XP computer. We installed from the new710.exe file, but the Windows hardware wizard cannot find the drivers. I pointed it to the Drivers subdirectory, but it would not recognize them. It does manage to identify the DI148-U when we plug it into a USB port. During the new710,exe installation we just get an error message about not finding any DATAQ devices. any sugestions? Can I use the drivers that were installed for NT?

Does the 145 have similar problems with XP? Is it an upgrade for the 148 or just an updated version. I realize the 148 is a very old unit and not really supported, but it does what we need.

Mark,

The DI-149 is the direct replacement for the DI-148U.

You'll find a side-by-side comparison at:
http://www.dataq.com/data-acquisition/starter-kits/comparison/148-149.htm

The installation program does not look for the instrument. You'll want to unplug the DI-148U, until prompted to plug it in. Once the DI-148U is plugged in, allow a minute or two for the drivers to install before running the DATAQ Instruments Hardware Manager from the WinDaq program menu group.

You'll find an installation troubleshooting guide at:

Mark I used the drivers from the old software by installing new710.exe and then, when I plugged the DI-148U in I pointed it at the older drivers file.

I am using Win XP SP3.

Steve

I have put the older drivers in my Dropbox https://www.dropbox.com/s/gyzp02cn0kgr6zx/USB%20drivers.zip?dl=0
