We have ordered a new rack mount PC for data acquisition to replace a laptop where our WinDaq software is currently installed. Could you send me any instructions for moving our WinDaq to a new machine?

Thank you,

You can download the WinDaq installation for your particular instrument at:

Hi Shawn - we are actually just moving the WinDaq software from a laptop to a new PC (which is rack mounted). We have a serial number for the software - since we are moving the installation from one computer to another, we wanted to know if we need to take any special steps to move WinDaq from an old PC to a new one.

What hardware are you using? What operating system are you moving from? Too?

Hi Shawn - we are using the same 720/730 hardware that we used with the laptop. The OS on the old system (laptop) is Windows 7 Professional. The OS on the new rack mounted PC is Windows 7 Ultimate.

We will be using the same 720/630 hardware. We want to retire the laptop and move of license of WinDaq from the laptop to the rack mounted PC.

No special steps necessary. Simply install from the original CD, using the same WinDaq/Pro/Pro+ password.

Thanks Shawn - just wanted to make sure that no clashes would arise due to a serial number that shows up as "in use" in the DATAQ registered serial numbers database.
