The 32GB USB flash drives included with all DI-2000/4000 series data loggers (excluding the DI-2008) allow for stand-alone sample rates up to 10K S/s (10,000 samples per second)*. Sampling faster than 10K S/s (throughput) to the included USB flash drive typically results in an intermittent RED ‘Status’ LED, and generates several individual data files on the USB flash drive (see below).
Fortunately, there is a solution for application that require faster sample rates. DATAQ Instruments offers 1GB, 16GB and 32GB, high-speed microSD drives. The 1GB microSD allows for throughput sample rates up to 80kHz, while the 32GB drive allows for sample rates up to 40K S/s. For application that call for even fast sample rates, the 16GB high-speed drive allows for throughput rates up 160K S/s.
Because DI-2000 and DI-4000 series instruments feature USB-A style drive ports (see below), a microSD card reader/adapter is required in order to use any of the high-speed microSD flash drives.
It’s important to note that not all microSD card reader/adaptors are created the same. The latest generation Lexar USB 3.2 Gen 1 microSD card reader/adaptors (offered on all DI-2000/4000 series product pages under ‘Accessories’) have been tested at throughput sample rates up to 160K S/s. Results may vary with other microSD card reader/adapters.

Used in combination with the 1GB, 16GB and 32GB high-speed microSD cards offered at www.dataq.com, you can sample up to the maximum rate of your DI-2000/4000 series data acquisition product (up to 160K S/s, throughput).
