AKRON, OH, November 1, 2001 — DATAQ Instruments announced today an upgrade to its DI-730 PC-based Data Acquisition and Control System that increases maximum voltage measurement capability to ±1000 full scale. The DI-730 also features up to ±1000V isolation from input-to-output and from channel-to-channel. Six input ranges extend from ±1000V down to ±10mV full scale, with an A-to-D resolution of 14 bits (1 part in 16384). The DI-730's overall sample rate of 250,000 allows the product to acquire signals ranging in frequency from DC to many kilohertz. Measuring only 7.29"W × 9"L × 1.52"H (186 mm × 229 mm × 39 mm), and weighing only 3 lbs. (1.36 Kg) the DI-730 is the smallest, most versatile system available for heavy industrial applications.

Many in-field industrial applications need to monitor and record multiple signal channels associated motor drive systems, load sensors, braking systems, and related types of machinery. Signal levels can range from millivolts to hundreds of volts AC or DC, for which the DI-730 was specifically designed. As such, the DI-730 is used as a replacement for hand-held DVMs, and analog and digital scopes because of its recording and multi-channel capabilities. It also replaces bulky chart recorders because of its compactness and portability.

Multiple Interface Options

Model DI-730-P allows the unit to be connected to the printer port of any PC. Model DI-730-EN adds a 10Base T Ethernet interface that allows the unit to connect to any local area network to deliver data anywhere within an organization. Model DI-730-USB adds a Universal Serial Bus interface to allow simplified, plug-and-play connection for single or multiple systems, with hot-swap capability.

Other features

The DI-730 includes a DSP-based design with Dataq's exclusive intelligent oversampling technique that provides for noise reduction, min/max detection, and acquisition of voltage or current peaks at extremely low sample rates. Built-in pre- and post-triggering allows acquisition of desired data before, after, or at the trigger event. Programmable sample rates supports programmable sample-rate-per-channel for conserving disk storage space where high and low frequency signals are measured at the same time.

Software Support

The DI-730 includes DATAQ Instrument's flagship WinDaq/Pro+ acquisition and WinDaq Waveform Browser playback and analysis software for fast, easy-to-use data acquisition, playback, and analysis without programming. WinDaq/Pro+ software also supports different sample rates per channel to keep recorded files as small as possible. The included ActiveX Programmer's Software Development Kit for Windows-based programming languages such as Visual Basic, and C++ provides language support.

Many other software environments are supported, including Excel, LabVIEW® and TestPoint, and H-P VEE.
