Application Guide

Temperature and humidity are perhaps the most common parameters measured for long-term recording applications. However, locating the appropriate sensor and instrument can be problematic. Not any longer.

The HMP60 humidity and temperature probe is a simple, yet cost-effective sensor suitable for a variety of environmental measurement applications for green houses, fermentation chambers, refrigerators, freezers, and many more. Its rugged design consists of an aluminum body that is IP65-classified, and its sensor elements are protected by a membrane filter and plastic grid, or optionally with a stainless steel sintered filter. A simple wiring scheme completes a temperature and humidity measurement solution that is both functional and easy to use.

The DI-710 data logger from DATAQ Instruments is the perfect complement to the form and function of the HMP60 sensor. The 710 provides excitation for the HMP60, which removes the need for any incremental external power supplies that add bulk and complexity. The data logger's high-resolution design allows even the smallest change in humidity or temperature to be detected and recorded. Finally, the 710 data logger can be configured to deliver temperature and humidity information to any local PC, one connected over a network, and even the Internet. A stand-alone option allows the 710 to independently record data for years to its own removable SD-style memory card, the same kind used in consumer MP3 players and digital cameras.
