Note: Make sure your DATAQ Instruments devices are connected and powered before continuing.
The Default setup for Network Cards in Windows is DHCP (the PC will attempt to obtain an IP address automatically - usually from a router inside a network). Because of this, if there are no network connections and your network card is set to "obtain an IP address automatically," Windows does not assign an IP address to your network card.
Once your DATAQ Instruments device is connected to your PC (either through a switch or directly to your network card) and powered, Windows will assign an IP address to your network card. This could take several minutes. You may continue to wait for Windows to resolve the IP address (could take several minutes) or you may assign a static IP to your Network Card manually (see Setting a Static IP to your Network Card).
