DATAQ ANNOUNCES NEW LOW-COST DATA ACQUISITION SIGNAL-CONDITIONED STARTER KIT
AKRON, OH, December 16, 1997 — DATAQ Instruments Inc., announces today the availability of its new Model DI-195B Signal-Conditioned Data Acquisition Starter Kit for two-channel data acquisition and waveform analysis using the computer's serial port. The DI-195B Starter Kit is designed to accept DATAQ's DI-5B Series plug-in signal-conditioning modules, allowing the user to connect to virtually any industrial signal, including VDC, VAC, thermocouple, RTD, current, frequency, potentiometer and strain with 600 volt input-to-output isolation. The DI-195B comes complete with all the hardware and software needed to perform PC-based data acquisition and waveform analysis in the Windows environment.
Simultaneous Acquisition and View
With the DI-195B and appropriate DI-5B signal conditioning module, the user can digitize virtually any transducer's analog output with 12-bit measurement accuracy at rates up to 240 samples per second and record it to a hard disk. At the same time, the transducer's output can be viewed on the PC's screen in a triggered sweep or scrolling display format.
Over 90 DI-5B signal conditioning modules support a wide range of analog input types. Screw terminal access is provided for easy set-up.
Software Features and Capabilities
DATAQ's WinDaq software provides data acquisition, real-time display, disk streaming, and playback and analysis of the signals acquired by the DI-195B module. WinDaq Waveform Browser playback and analysis software offers an easy way to review and analyze waveforms with smooth scrolling in either time direction as well as any degree of waveform compression. Compared to competitive software packages available on the market, WinDaq's set-up is fast and virtually effortless with no programming required. Data files can be imported and exported from a variety of data acquisition, spreadsheet, and analysis formats providing a high degree of flexibility.
The software's disk streaming design allows data files of any length to be graphically displayed and browsed. Seven standard cursor-based time and amplitude measurements, frequency domain (FFT and DFT) and ten statistical analysis functions help simplify waveform analysis and interpretation. Digital filtering allows graphical editing of the power spectrum for high-pass, low-pass, band-pass and notch filters.
The DI-195B requires 120 volt AC, 60 Hz power and comes with a wall outlet-type adapter.
The kit comes equipped with the DI-195B module, serial communications cable, WinDaq/Lite data acquisition software, WinDaq Waveform Browser playback and analysis software and documentation. Except for the optional DI-5B signal conditioning modules, everything needed to acquire and playback data using WinDaq software is included, providing PC users with one of the industry's best price/performance packages.
